The app includes the full range of core features users are familiar with, such as the feed, stories, and more. However, Instagram has designed the new iPad app to highlight Reels. According to the announcement, users are greeted with Reels as soon as they open the app.
The goal is to provide an enjoyable entertainment experience on larger screens. At the same time, Stories are placed at the top, allowing users to easily connect with their loved ones. The messaging section is also accessible with just a single tap.
The new app also features a dedicated “Following” tab that allows users to personalize their content feed. This tab makes it easier to switch between different content sources.
The “All” option displays suggested posts and Reels from followed accounts. The “Friends” option brings together suggested content from both followed accounts and those with mutual following.
The “Recent” option lists posts and Reels from followed accounts in chronological order, starting with the most recent. Users can customize the order of these different feeds according to their preferences.
