First Details of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Leaked

The first details of the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset have been leaked. The new chip is expected to feature LPDDR6 RAM, UFS 5.0 storage, and be manufactured using TSMC’s N2P process.

Early information has leaked suggesting that Qualcomm is already working on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The leak came from the well-known tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), even though flagship devices with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have only recently been announced.

What Will the New Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Offer?

According to DCS, Qualcomm will skip TSMC’s N2 node for this new chipset. Instead, the company will use the N2P manufacturing process, which promises better power efficiency and performance compared to N2.

LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 Support

The leak also revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 will support LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage technology. As this chip is designed for premium flagship smartphones, it is expected to come with a high price point.

Xiaomi 18 Could Be the First to Use It

Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 17 series in September this year, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Therefore, it is likely that the Xiaomi 18 series, expected to launch in September 2026, will be the first to adopt the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

Next Up: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

It’s unusual for Qualcomm to leak so many details about the new chip this early, as the current generation is not yet complete. The U.S.-based chipmaker is expected to officially announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in the coming weeks.

Positioned below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, this new chip is likely to first appear in the OnePlus Ace 6 Turbo this December. It remains unclear which other phones will adopt this chipset.
