The HarmonyOS 6 file-sharing feature has been opened to the Apple ecosystem. The new version offers fast and secure data transfer with iOS and macOS.
The HarmonyOS 6 file-sharing feature was introduced with a major innovation that breaks down the barriers between Huawei and Apple devices. With the new operating system version, Huawei now allows direct data transfer with iOS, iPadOS, and macOS devices.
How will HarmonyOS 6 file sharing work?
This new step is seen as a significant advancement in cross-ecosystem connectivity. Previously, Honor had introduced a similar feature called AI Connect with MagicOS 9. According to available information, Huawei’s feature will require a dedicated application that will be released through the Apple App Store in order to function.

Connection speed and security have been enhanced
HarmonyOS 6 not only opens the door to file sharing but also introduces a new architecture called “Galaxy Interconnection.” Thanks to this system, cross-device connection strength has been improved, and sharing speeds can now reach up to 160 MB/s. In addition, Huawei claims that latency and power consumption have been reduced by more than 20%, ensuring faster and more efficient data transfers.
New security measures draw attention
Huawei is also focusing on security. The new version introduces encrypted sharing capabilities. Users can now set a “view once” mode to prevent secondary distribution of media. Additionally, there’s an option to restrict screenshots or recordings for sensitive content.
