Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold could be unveiled in October
According to a new report from South Korea–based ET News, Samsung may not wait until the end of the year to introduce its first tri-foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold. The company is rumored to be planning a special Unpacked event in October 2025 to reveal the revolutionary device, with sales expected to begin in November.
This move is seen as a clear sign that Samsung wants to act quickly in this emerging segment to compete directly with Huawei and secure its dominance in the tri-fold smartphone market.
According to recent reports, Samsung is expected to adopt a cautious strategy for its first tri-foldable smartphone. The company is reportedly planning a limited initial production of around 50,000 units for the Galaxy Z TriFold.
There are two main reasons behind this approach:
- To gauge market response to this completely new design and minimize potential risks.
- To avoid affecting the strong sales momentum of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which launched in July and has been performing very well.
Because of this strategy, the Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to be initially released only in the South Korean and Chinese markets.
Expected Features of the Galaxy Z TriFold
According to leaks, the Galaxy Z TriFold will feature a massive 9.96-inch tablet-like display when fully unfolded. The cover display is expected to measure 6.49 inches. The device will utilize a design with two inward-folding hinges, which is believed to make it more durable compared to the Huawei Mate XT, where part of the screen folds outward.
The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor and will include flagship-level features such as wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, and NFC support. While details regarding the camera setup, RAM, and battery capacity remain unclear, reports indicate that Samsung has already begun mass production.
This first-generation tri-fold device is expected to play a key role in shaping Samsung’s future foldable phone strategy, serving as an important experimental milestone for the company.
