Nvidia management has decided to reduce the production of the 8GB RTX 5060 models. This move has sparked major controversy.
Nvidia has decided to reduce the production of its RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti 8GB graphics cards. The company is changing its production strategy by lowering the supply of these models. According to the latest reports, Nvidia will be sending fewer 8GB cards to its partners.
Production of 8GB RTX 5060 models to decrease
Under the new plan, RTX 5060 production will be cut by 30%, while RTX 5060 Ti 8GB production will be reduced by 15%. This decision means that the number of cards available for direct retail sales will remain limited.

These models are known to be primarily targeted at prebuilt system manufacturers. However, lower-than-expected demand has pushed Nvidia to shift its production focus toward other graphics cards. Despite the production cuts, a significant impact on the global market isn’t expected for now due to the current stock levels.
The report does not clearly state whether these production cuts apply only to desktop graphics cards or if they also affect laptop versions. However, laptop models currently dominate sales in the market.
One of the main reasons behind this decision is the criticism directed at these 8GB models. These cards, which were not heavily highlighted by Nvidia during the launch, fall short compared to competitors like AMD and Intel’s Arc B series, which offer higher memory capacities in the same price range. This indicates that the limited VRAM has had a negative impact on sales.
